In the activities view, if you search for mongobooster, the icon does appear:

Can reproduce on Fedora 27, Version 4.2.0
It seems to be a problem with GNOME, rather specific to a distribution.
The icon is missing in the top panel as well

Same problem with version 4.5.0 & an up-to-date arch linux with Gnome : the desktop Icon is not showing in system tray, application switcher and dock
