What is the release date of next major version 6.0?

I need to decide whether it is the right time to purchase the license for 5.x since last 3 major release pattern shows a new major release is given out once in every year 4th quarter. Hence if the date is close then its a waste of money to purchase now.

Kindly guide me on this to purchase a personal license.
