Export is taking way too long

This is my first time using a MongoDB GUI tool. My query returns quickly, but to export to csv takes entirely too long IMO. I have a relatively small query that has been exporting for over an hour. A query with 500 results that I ran yesterday took 45 minutes to finish. I tried a different GUI and did not have this issue (it had other issues though so I was not able to get the data from it instead). My query is not complicated although it does contain a regex pattern match. Is it normal for csv exports to take an excessively long time?
